Why matcha?

More than a drink, matcha is a ritual.

Produced from carefully cultivated green tea leaves, Japanese matcha is ground into a fine, vibrant powder. Unlike traditional green tea, with matcha you consume the whole leaf, prepared directly in water.

The result is a drink with a distinctive flavor, intense green color, and a preparation that invites you to slow down and be present.

The benefits of matcha

Energy for your day

Matcha naturally contains caffeine, providing a boost that can help maintain energy and focus throughout the day.

Focus and concentration

Matcha is naturally rich in L-theanine, an amino acid found in tea leaves. The natural combination of L-theanine and caffeine is one of the features that distinguishes matcha from other caffeinated beverages.

Rich in antioxidants

Matcha contains catechins, a group of antioxidant compounds naturally present in green tea. Among them is EGCG, one of the most studied catechins in green tea.

A ritual to slow down

Preparing matcha requires a few minutes of attention: measuring, adding water, and whisking until you achieve a smooth and creamy texture.

It is precisely this process that turns a simple drink into a moment for yourself.

MATCHA VS COFFEE

Two ways to start the day. Two completely different experiences.

Coffee might give you that immediate boost, but for some people it can also lead to energy spikes, jitters, stomach discomfort, and an energy crash later on.

Matcha offers a different experience, naturally combining caffeine and L-theanine for a more gradual feeling of energy and focus.

Furthermore, it is naturally rich in antioxidants and, since it is consumed as a powder, it allows you to enjoy the tea leaf in its entirety.

HOW TO MAKE MATCHA?

Preparing matcha at home is simple.

1. Measure
Add about 1–2 g of matcha to your bowl.

2. Add water
Add about 60–70 ml of water at 80 °C. Avoid using boiling water to preserve the delicate flavour of the matcha.

3. Whisk
Use a Chasen, the traditional bamboo whisk, and whisk quickly until you get a smooth texture and a fine foam.

4. Enjoy
You can drink the matcha traditionally or add milk to prepare a matcha latte.

Why choose

HOTEA

It all started with a question: where is the matcha as they say true matcha should be?

We were looking for that taste, that color, that texture. We searched once, and again, and again. For two years, we didn't give up.

Until we found it. The matcha that was, finally, everything we were looking for.

And when we tasted it, we realized it couldn't stay just with us. It had to reach more people.

That is how Hotea was born, from the desire to find the perfect matcha and the wish to share that discovery with you.

Because we believe that when you find something truly special, it is worth sharing.
